Priority #1 Anti-Social Behaviour Area Update |
||
Good Afternoon Moss Side/Wade Hall,
Below is our logs, what we have done and our ask to support us in tackling this issue.
Breaking this down specifically for our area: From our logs, we had 36 reports of nuisance in this area, with specific issues around nuisance bikes and Youth activities in the summer holidays. Compared to the year prior Jan-August 2024-2025 we have seen a 13% decrease in issues across South Ribble in relation to this. To tackle this issue, we continue to patrol this area, especially Emmie Lane, which is a hot spot location, showing a visible presence. We have dealt with individuals this month who arrived in a van to use this site before they were able to start their bikes, moving them along. More widely, we are conducting plain clothes operations to identify those involved, to deal with this behaviour both through criminal and housing routes, in conjunction with our partner agencies in Progress and Accent housing. Further to this, the local team are working in the background to seek LANPAC funding to support our amazing youth club on Moss Side, to help expand their activities. Our ask is for residents to report these issues to ourselves via 101 but also for parents to be aware of where their children are, who they are with and where required tackle any unacceptable behaviour. The Neighbourhood team are happy to support parents through acceptable behaviour contracts which can impose curfews or clear requirements to alter their behaviour and to support parents to lead on their children’s behaviours.
