Westcote Police Weekly Update
Hello everyone,
Your Westcote Neighbourhood Policing Team has been out and about this week, working hard to keep our community safe. Here’s what we’ve been up to:
Car Crime Crackdown We’ve been responding to several reports of vehicles having their windows smashed, particularly overnight. In response, extra patrols have been deployed in the affected areas, and enquiries are ongoing to identify those responsible. Reminder: Please remove all valuables from your car, even small items like bags or loose change. If you see anyone acting suspiciously around vehicles, report it immediately via 101 (or 999 in an emergency).
Policing the Pride Event This weekend, officers attended the Pride celebrations to ensure the event ran smoothly and safely.
On the Beat & On Camera Our PCSOs have been reviewing CCTV footage across the neighbourhood to gather vital evidence for ongoing investigations. This behind-the-scenes work plays a key role in identifying suspects, protecting victims, and helping us secure successful outcomes in court.
Warrants Executed We have successfully executed several warrants this week, resulting in the arrest of individuals wanted by the courts. This work helps ensure that those who need to face justice are held accountable for their actions.
Tackling Anti-Social Behaviour at Bede Park We know how important Bede Park is to local residents and families. Officers have been addressing reports of anti-social behaviour, including gatherings causing noise and nuisance. Our presence is helping to keep the park safe and welcoming for everyone who uses it.
Hotspot Patrols Neighbourhood officers have been targeting known hotspots for drug-related activity. This week, patrols have disrupted suspected deals and reassured members of the community who raised concerns. We’ll continue to focus our efforts on areas where drug misuse has the biggest impact.
Working Together to Keep Westcotes Safe Your neighbourhood team is here, visible, and taking proactive steps to tackle crime and anti-social behaviour. But we need your help too:
If you see something that doesn’t look right, please report it.
Use 999 in an emergency or 101 for non-urgent reports.
You can also report anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
Stay safe,
