🚨 Illegal E-Bike Seized 🚲

Thanks to the eagle-eyed CCTV operator at North West Leicestershire District Council, this illegal e-bike has been seized.

🔍 Following enquiries, it was found to be:

Capable of reaching speeds up to 30mph using a throttle-only system

Fitted with only a rear brake, posing a serious danger to both the rider and the public

⚠️ Important Reminder: This type of e-bike does not meet UK legal standards for Electrically Assisted Pedal Cycles (EAPCs). It is classified as a motor vehicle, meaning:

You must have insurance, registration, and a valid driving licence

Riding without these can result in vehicle seizure, fines, and penalty points

📚 Please familiarise yourself with the regulations on e-bikes and e-scooters. Ignorance is not a defence — riding illegally could lead to prosecution.
