Local Priorities Violent crime Update

I wanted to provide you an update regarding Violent crime, which members around this area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the Met Engage priority survey.

In 2024 Officers from the Camden Town Centre Team (TCT) stopped a male who was Wanted for failing to appear in court, he was arrested and in the usual course of things that would be the end of it for the team.

However Fast forward to early 2025 and an Officer from the TCT recognised the males photo which had been circulated as a suspect for Grievous Bodily Harm on a Police Officer, they contacted the investigating officer and identified the male who was then arrested and charged being held on remand awaiting his court date.

I am pleased to say that last week he pleaded guilty to GBH and was sentenced to 27 months in prison.
