Nails and screws in Road |
||
We are writing to make you aware of a local concern raised to the West Heath Safer Neighbourhood team.
Over recent weeks residents have reported finding screws scattered on the road surface around Gipsy Road and Bognor Road. These present a clear danger to drivers, cyclists and pedestrians as well as causing costly damage to vehicles. It is not clear at this stage whether this is accidental or deliberate
If you have information regarding how these screws may be ending up on the road or have seen similar in your road please get in touch.
Your local Safer Neighbourhood Team will be conducting patrols in the area over the coming week, to provide reassurance with the community and hopefully gain any information regarding this incident.
Dealing with concerns of residents like yourself is a key part of making your local area safer. As you may know, each ward has its own Safer Neighbourhoods team, which works with many local people in identifying issues like the one we addressed above. You may have more to tell us, whether it be about this problem or others where you feel police assistance would be helpful. If you feel you may have information regarding this crime please ring the non-emergency number 101. However If you would like to contact your local team about this incident or anything else please email WestHeath.SNT@met.police.uk. You might prefer to contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. You are also welcome to speak to a member of the Safer Neighbourhoods team who pass by your house regularly as part of their local duties.
