We’re asking parents, carers and guardians to be aware of what online content their children are seeing. Often children are being exposed to harmful content such as sexual violence, self-harm, suicide, animal cruelty, indecent images and terrorism. If you’re a parent, carer or guardian, here is some advice on what you can do to keep your children safe online. ⚙️ Use parental controls and privacy settings so they can only access age-appropriate content. 📰 Explain and help them identify was is fake news. 💻 Talk to them about the potential dangers of private chat rooms. 🚫 Encourage them not to share too much personal information online. 💬 Reassure them and encourage them to talk about what they do online.  |
