Police were notified of a drone being flown over the Hawksyard estate on 24/08/2025. The drone was reported to be flying in very close proximity to residents homes, appearing to being somewhat intrusive. There are rules and regulations for flying drones of all shapes & sizes and they can be accessed on the official website for the Civil Aviation Authority. www.caa.co.uk If you own a drone or are considering purchasing one please visit the website for expert advice. Of note no drone should be closer than 150m and an upper flight height of 120m restriction of residential, recreational, commercial and industrial Sites - these can include but list is not exhaustive: Individual residential buildings, housing estates, villages, cities, towns. Tourist attractions, sports facilities, beaches & parks, including theme parks. Shopping centres, warehouses & business parks. Factories, docks, rail & transport hubs. For certain tasks/operators of drones the personnel have to be licenced, and ensure that all flights are conducted in a safe manner. Endangering the safety of an aircraft could result in a five year prison sentence.
