Dear Resident
The summer is always a busy time of year for our policing teams, especially the month of August.
Do you follow our local Facebook pages?
Whether you're looking for the latest news or just want to see what your local officers have been up to — we’ve got you covered.
Our page is open to everyone in the community, and we’d love to see you there!@PolicingEastCambridgeshire
Here are some of our highlights over the last month:
Speed checks in Soham and Sutton, responding to community concerns. Anti-social behaviour patrols in Ely. Arrested a man who failed to stop from officers but got stuck at the railway crossing in Chettisham. He was found with 50 bags of suspected drugs and cash in the vehicle. Hosted a session in Littleport alongside East Cambridgeshire District Council to raise awareness with young people about anti-social behaviour and drug use. | |
Now time for some recent court results!
Our officers work tirelessly to bring offenders before the courts and ensure justice is served. Here’s a few from this past month, who are now behind bars.
A provisional driver who had multiple vehicle faults has been disqualified. Read more here.
A drink driver who caused extensive damage to farmland has been disqualified. Read more here.
Tips and tricks:
One of the main priorities of our East Cambridgeshire Neighbourhood team is tackling anti-social behaviour in Ely City Centre.
Antisocial behaviour takes many forms, from aggressive, noisy or abusive behaviour to neighbourhood disturbances involving drugs, abandoned cars or animals.
For more advice about anti-social behaviour and how to report it, head to our website.
This is just some of what we have been up to this month, we are always working to protect the public and being visible and approachable in the communities.
If you would like to share any concerns, why not pop along to one of our community events?
We regularly host a ‘Coffee with a Cop’ and ‘Police Surgeries’ to understand the issues that are impacting you. For more updates on our next event, head to our website. If you can’t make it to chat to us in person, report it online.
Kind Regards,
Annabelle Mullee |
