Three arrested on suspicion of drug dealing after car stopped

Three women have been arrested on suspicion of drug dealing following a proactive stop of a car in south Worcestershire.

Officers were alerted to a car suspected to be linked to drug dealing travelling into the county from the West Midlands area just after 11pm last night (Sunday 31 August).

The vehicle was stopped by West Mercia Police in the Egdon Lane area near Peopleton just after midnight this morning (Monday).

A large quantity of suspected class A drugs was located near the car.

Three women, all in their 40s, were arrested at the scene on suspicion of possession of a controlled drug with intent to supply - class A crack cocaine.

The driver was further arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs.

All three are currently in police custody, helping police with their investigation.
