Theft of Motor Vehicle - Roestock Lane

Dear Resident

On Saturday 30th August 2025, a theft of a vehicle occurred on Roestock Lane in Colney Heath.

The stolen vehicle is a Blue Hyundai with the vehicle registration CJ23YJY. It is believed to have been stolen between 21:00-22:00hrs on Saturday 30th August 2025. The vehicle was keyless and was likely stolen by offender(s) who cloned the key signal. The owner of the vehicle was thankfully not at home during this incident, but this incident undoubtedly will be concerning to residents.

Tips to prevent vehicle crime:

Always remove keys from the ignition when you are not with the vehicle

When parking, remember to set your immobiliser or alarm or use an approved steering lock or gear lever clamp.

Never leave valuables in your vehicle – not even in the glove box or boot – and keep all possessions out of sight – even coats, sunglasses and carrier bags.

Be aware of your keys. Don’t leave them visible on a windowsill or near to your front door, where they could be “hooked” through the letterbox or a keyless signal can be received by relay devices.

If you have a keyless entry car use a signal blocking bag and consider using additional trackers, steering wheel locks or ghost immobilisers.
