Henley Weekly Update |
||
Dear Residents and Local Businesses,
Here is your weekly update from your local neighbourhood Policing Team, to let you know some of what we've been busy dealing with:
OUR PRIORITIES 1. Anti-Social Behaviour in the area, Wood End, Coventry. Key locations being, Hillmorton road, Deedmore road, Moat House park and Ringwood highway. This will remain a local priority or next 3 months due to lighter summer nights. Action taken: We have been carrying out patrols of these areas on foot and in vehicles. With the help of officers on our schools team, we have been able to identify many of the young people involved in the anti-social behaviour. Which has resulted in visits to home addresses, and in some cases, banning letters issued and Social housing landlords informed.
2. Business crime and retail theft. Reports of repeat thefts at several stores across the area. Action Taken: We have arrested several people involved in thefts from shops and put them before the courts. Many of them have received custodial sentences.
3. Addressing community concerns about the illegal and antisocial use of off road bikes, quad bikes and e scooters, dangerous driving, thefts and the broader impact on public safety. Action taken: We have recently recovered several illegal and stolen motorcycles from the area which we suspect to have been used to commit anti-social behaviour. We are also working with our Traffic department’s Off Road Bike Team to carry out operations using drones, resulting in several bikes being seized whilst in use.
PATROLS Our officers have been carrying out high visible patrols across the area, paying particular attention to areas that have been reported to have had a recent increase in crime or anti-social behaviour.
SPEED WATCH Our officers carried out a Speed watch event on Wigston Road. We will be writing to any driver’s that were driving over the speed limit.
CUPPA WITH A COPPA We have arranged a Cuppa With A Coppa event. This is for residents across the Henley and Longford area. The details are as follows: Friday 26th September at 17:30 hours At Bell Green Library, Riley Square, Coventry, CV2 1LS.
