1. Introductions:

Warm welcome and thanks to attendees.

Focus on Sharing, supporting one another, & building stronger neighbourhood connections.

Membership update (since July):

+85 users

+69 new members

+17 new approved schemes

Engagement remains strong β€” more replies to alerts, surveys, and feedback.

 

2. Police & NHW on the Ground:

Ongoing door-to-door sign-ups with NHW & police β†’ dozens of new members.

Residents reporting feeling safer.

Strengthened links with local policing teams.

Live Longer Better – Strength & Balance classes.

4. Safety Tip of the Month:

As evenings get darker:

Use light timers when out.

Lock side gates and sheds.

Report suspicious callers: 101 (or 999 if urgent).

Report scam texts to 7726.

 

5. Friendship Group Meetup:

Our Next Community Trip: Hatfield House Gardens – Wed, 17th Sept, 10am–12pm.

OPALS social gathering & partnership events with Terry (covering different local areas) get in touch .β€œFree - Tea & lunch” sessions for older residents.

 

6. Partner Updates check the list below for weekly events:

Communities 1st – free training sessions for volunteers.

Mind in Mid Herts – autumn wellbeing & resilience workshops.

 

7. Update Dates:

Monthly Newsletter β†’ published last week to 7,000+ members. Send stories/events for next issue.

Redbourn Classics on the Common – Sat, 30th Aug β†’ event successfully held with excellent attendance, strong community engagement, and positive feedback.

 

8. Save the Date:

We’re pleased to let you know that we will be at Napsbury Park Hall on Monday, 22nd September at 6:30 PM for a Crime Prevention Evening with the local policing and crime prevention teams.

This will be a great opportunity to:

  • Hear practical advice on keeping safe in London Colney area
  • Ask questions directly to the policing & prevention teams
  • Connect with your community
