Dear Resident, On Thursday two of our PCSO came across a Seat Ibiza parked in a residential car park. The vehicle had been present at the location for a number of days had had not moved. The vehicle number plate was checked via the Police National Computer (PNC) and once the results were obtained checks were carried out on the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) which did not match the PNC results. By running the VIN through they were able to find the correct identity for the vehicle and it turned out to be a stolen vehicle stolen from the Gloucester area a 12 days earlier. The vehicle was recovered with the assistance of out recovery agent and the local force notified the vehicle has been found.
This was one of two vehicles recovered after being stolen this week as two of our officers also recovered a Hyundai Ioniq on Sunday that had been stolen from the airport within the past week. The owner of the vehicle had contacted reported the vehicle tracking to a location on our area so the officers dispatched to the area and were able to locate the vehicle soon after arriving. The vehicle was recovered.
We attended a cannabis factory over on the north area of the city to assist after reports of a fire at a property which was then identified as a cannabis factory. Our PCSOs remained at the scene whilst approximately 200 cannabis plants were disposed of from the address and to allow other services such as the power company attended to rectify any power issues. The address was then secured before leaving.
On Saturday the team went out on some proactive patrols targeting areas we have had reports of anti-social behaviour and drug dealing/use. Officers and PCSOs attended one of the areas based on intelligence recently received in relation to repeated drug dealing. Whilst at the location one of the officers spotted a vehicle matching the number plate details provided and the vehicle was stopped. The driver and vehicle were searched under the misuse of drugs act and a quantity of class A drugs were recovered. Checks conducted on the Police National Computer (PNC) showed that the vehicle did not have valid insurance, Tax or MOT. The vehicle was seized from the driver and taken away from by our recovery agent.
Please Note The school summer holidays are coming to an end today for many and over the next couple of days children will be returning to school. There may be many of you who have children to drop off at school, if you use a car for the school run please be mindful of where you park your vehicle. Last school year we had a number of reports and complaints in relation to inconsiderate parking around schools. We will be conducting patrols around schools during morning drop off and afternoon pickup times at schools across the Holbrooks ward. Drivers found to be parking on zigzag lines, on a crossing or in any other manner that would be considered dangerous or inconsiderate parking will be issued with a fixed penalty ticket which carries a fine and points on your license.
Crime Figures There were Three reported vehicle offence in the past Nine Days on the Holbrooks Ward. There were Two Theft of Motor Vehicle offences that took place on Arena Avenue and Nunts Lane.
