Mid-Evening Update: Piccadilly Gardens Neighbourhood Team Monthly Day of Action

As part of their monthly day of action, the Piccadilly Gardens Neighbourhood Policing Team have been carrying out visible foot patrols throughout today. The initiative, which focuses on tackling crime and antisocial behaviour in the city centre, has already seen several key interventions.

So far, officers have made three arrests in connection with separate incidents. These include:

Sergeant Jon Wyatt from the Piccadilly Gardens Neighbourhood Team said:

“We are committed to taking the fight to criminals and tackling those who choose to disrupt our communities. Assaults on police officers and other emergency workers are never acceptable, and anyone who thinks such behaviour is tolerated will quickly find otherwise. Today’s action shows our determination to protect the public and stand firm against those who cause harm.”

The team remain on patrol into the evening, working alongside local partners to ensure that Piccadilly Gardens and the surrounding areas remain a safe and welcoming place for everyone.
