Dear Residents
An update from your local Sherbourne Police Team.
WHAT’S BEEN HAPPENING?
Officers continue to target electric bikes and are confiscating illegal ones that are being ridden without insurance. We are aware that these bikes can cause issues on footpaths and through city centres and we are proactively targeting them.
Anti-social behaviour patrols are being conducted around the Coundon Social Club due to nitrous oxide cannisters being found near to the location. These can be a hazard to the local community who use the area for leisure purposes. Please report any suspicious activity.
CRIME UPDATE
There has been a report of an attempt burglary in Steeping Stones Road. The offender did not gain access to the property due to being disturbed. Patrols are being conducted at the location.
There has been a report of a shed burglary at The Holyhead Road allotments. The offender forced open the shed door and stole a number of tools from the location. The neighbourhood Police team are in possession of special pens that can mark property making them difficult to sell on if they have been stolen. If found they can be re-united with their owner if they are marked up with postcodes. We will be bringing some of these pens to the next forum.
There has been a burglary of a garage in Chelveston Road. Unknown offenders have gained access to a garage by removing a window pane, once inside they have stolen the victims scrambler.
IN THE COMMUNITY.
The children are heading back to school next week…..with that in mind we would like to take the opportunity to ask if there are schools in the community that would benefit from a visit from the Police. We can run sessions on road safety and advice about staying safe in the community. Please email the Sherbourne team get more information.
Regards
Sherbourne Neighbourhood Police Team
