We’ve received reports of individuals posing as officials from utility companies, local councils, or even the police to gain access to homes. These bogus callers may claim there’s a gas leak, water issue, or urgent inspection needed. Once inside, they distract you while an accomplice steals valuables.
🔒 Protect Yourself:
• Never let unexpected callers into your home.
• Always ask for official ID—and verify it using contact details from your own bills or the company’s website.
• Use a door chain or speak through a window or video doorbell.
• If in doubt, keep them out and call 101 to report suspicious activity.
• If you feel threatened, dial 999 immediately.
