Safety cordon surrounding Watts Road now lifted

The safety cordon put in place following reports of suspected explosive materials being found inside a property on Watts Road in Beverley yesterday (Friday, 29 August) has now been lifted and residents are able to safely return home.

Enquiries continue and a scene guard remains in place around the property to allow officers to establish the full circumstances around the report. 

A 27-year-old man who was arrested inside the property in connection with the report remains in custody assisting officers with the ongoing investigation at this time.
