Monthly round-up (August 25)

It’s been a busy August for the Hendon and West Hendon Neighbourhood Teams.

Below is a little highlight of just some of the work carried out:

--Hendon ward--

*Prolific aggressive beggar Faisal IBRAHIM, aged 38 years, from Audley Road NW4 was arrested and charged for Breach of his Community Protection Notice on 19/08/25 having been witnessed harassing members of the public for money at the BP, Finchley Lane. He will appear at Willesden Magistrates’ on 02/09/25. We will be asking the Court for a Criminal Behaviour Order.

*Prolific offender Nicole BROOKS, aged 41 years, from the Belle Vue Estate, NW4 was arrested and charged on 06/08/25 with a public order offence. She has been bailed by the Courts to reappear on 19/09/25. We will be asking the Court for a Criminal Behaviour Order.

*We’ve seen a reduction in anti-social behaviour caused by groups loitering on Church Road, Wroughton Terrace, West View and Prince of Wales Close, NW4. Since being made aware of the issue we have made three arrests for drugs supply and two for weapon offences. Two individuals have received a Community Protection Notice prohibiting them from attending the area and they will face arrest if they breach this. Several others have received ASB warnings.

--West Hendon ward--

*Beverley LUPTON, aged 49 years, of No Fixed Abode was convicted of assault and theft from shop from John Lewis, Brent Cross Shopping Centre, NW4. She received an eight week prison sentence and was also issued with a Criminal Behaviour Order prohibiting her from attending Brent Cross Shopping Centre for a period of five years. Breach of a CBO can result in a prison sentence up to five years.

*On 21/08/25, we conducted a vehicle check point at Brent Cross Shopping Centre with colleagues from Project Servator. This resulted in ten vehicles stops of which one was seized for no insurance, six searches and one arrest for immigration-overstaying (since deported back to Albania).

*Officers deployed the community outreach van to Stanley Road, Milton Road and West Hendon Broadway. We are aware of the anti social behaviour in the area (including drug use and supply) and we heard first hand from residents and local businesses about the impact this is having on their day to day quality of life.  This area remains a ward priority for us and we are using a variety of tactics to combat the problems reported.

The month ahead

We have lots planned for the month ahead including operations working with immigration, trading standards and the Barnet Council community safety team and I will aim to provide an update on these operations as we go.

Thanks for reading.
