Good afternoon folks,

Welcome again to our new users of Derbyshire Alert.

Yesterday afternoon there was an incident reported whereby there was a vulnerable person from Coton-in-the-Elms area that had gone missing.

Officers spent a few hours checking Woodlands and fields, then the Police Air support flew over to assist, covering acres of rural land.

The person was safely found in a farmers field by the Air support, guiding Officers to the person's whereabouts and now is being supported by others.

Recently there has been issues with kids erecting goal posts on open space land/small parks.

This isn't allowed unless permission is given from the site manager of the estate, ie Vistry @ Dracan village or South Derbyshire District Council.

There is also a local residents issue in Overseal off Woodville Road, whereby a large portion of private land has encouraged other people to take ownership of it.

Due to this being a civil matter, the Planning Enforcemen Officer and the Head of Planning at SDDC as well as Amy Wheelton all working together, served   a STOP NOTICE which was blatantly ignored and so now further enforcements via the Council is being looked at.

Finally SDDC has worked hard to set up an Activity road show for all children within South Derbyshire at local parks, over the six weeks holiday, and it was a great success so thank you to all that joined in the fun 😊

Check mate 👍
