WOMAN JAILED FOR SHOPLIFTING

A woman has been handed a jail term after admitting carrying out a series of shoplifting offences across Tamworth and Burton-on-Trent this year.

Lauren Brown, aged 35, of Tamworth, appeared at the North Staffordshire Justice Centre yesterday (Thursday 28 August) where she was sentenced to almost nine months in prison for a total of 14 shoplifting-related offences.

She had previously pleaded guilty to stealing goods worth a total of around £1,840 from Savers in Tamworth and Burton-on-Trent, as well as around £640 of items from B&M Tamworth, across a number of days in January and July this year. She also pleaded guilty to stealing cosmetics worth £1,280 from Sainsburys in Burton-on-Trent in August and handling stolen goods belonging to Aldi in the same month.
