Youths dispersed as proactive response to anti-social behaviour continues

We’re continuing to proactively tackle anti-social behaviour and dispersed a number of youths who were causing concern in Cannock.

As part of our problem solving policing patrols, officers have been patrolling town centres and high footfall areas in order to tackle the issues affecting local people and businesses the most.

We’re using crime data to put officers in the right place at the right time, focussing our efforts on stopping tackle anti-social behaviour, serious violence and knife crime across Staffordshire.

Earlier this week, we stopped at the Poundstretcher store in Hednesford after getting reports of young people causing issues. We seized a vape from someone who was underage and dispersed the group, making sure to consider any future public space protection order (PSPO) notices to make sure they don’t continue causing concern in the local community.

We also engaged with a number of rough sleepers, signposting them to support services that will be able to help them.

A number of shops and businesses were also visited, who were pleased to report no issues to local officers.

Patrols like this are continuing across Staffordshire as our work to tackle the issues that matter the most to local people continues.
