||
Officers carrying out warrants have arrested two men on suspicion of drug offences. Following intelligence, officers first searched a property in Brown Edge yesterday (Thursday 28 August). A total of £1,500 was seized from the property. A 54-year-old man, from the Leek area, was arrested a short time later on suspicion of conspiring to supply a class A drug; cocaine. Later, officers searched an associated property in the Chell area of Stoke-on-Trent. A 44-year-old man, of no-fixed-address, was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of cocaine. He has since been released on bail. The 54-year-old man has been released with no further action to be taken. The arrests are the latest in our major and organised crime department’s (MOCD) ongoing focus on disrupting drugs lines in Staffordshire. To date, a total of six people have been convicted in the last eight months, as we have continued to tackle the illegal supply of class A drugs in response to community intelligence and information. Detective Chief Inspector Ian Fitzgerald, of the MOCD team, said: “We are determined to crack down on the supply of these illegal substances in Staffordshire and will do all we can to apprehend those involved.” To report crime in your area, call us on 101, use Livechat on our website, or call 999 in an emergency.
