Commissioner raises awareness of Government alerts that could expose "lifeline" secret phones

🤳 On Sunday, September 7, the national Emergency Alert System test will sound at 3pm.

Surrey's Police and Crime Commissioner Lisa Townsend is now sharing more on how the alerts can be disabled on ā€œlifelineā€ secret phones hidden by domestic abuse survivors.

  • ā€˜Settings’, then ā€˜sounds’, then ā€˜advanced’, then ā€˜emergency broadcasts’
  • ā€˜Settings’, then ā€˜general settings’, then ā€˜emergency alerts’
  • Then turn off ā€˜severe alerts’, ā€˜extreme alerts’ and ā€˜test alerts’.
