Commissioner raises awareness of Government alerts that could expose "lifeline" secret phones |

𤳠On Sunday, September 7, the national Emergency Alert System test will sound at 3pm. Mobiles will emit a loud siren and vibrate - even if they're set to silent. Surrey's Police and Crime Commissioner Lisa Townsend is now sharing more on how the alerts can be disabled on ālifelineā secret phones hidden by domestic abuse survivors. Preventing violence against women and girls is a key priority, both for the Commissioner and for Surrey Police. Lisa said: āMany victims may purposefully keep a secret phone as a vital lifeline. "I urge any abuse survivors with a hidden phone to follow the Government's instructions below.ā š
