Theft from Motor Vehicle

Dear Resident,

We are appealing for information after reports of a male gaining entry to 3 vehicles and trying the front door handle of another in Rothersthorpe.

The first of these incidents took place in the early hours of the 23/08/2025 the others all occurred in the early hours of the 27/08/2025.

The 4 properties involved are on Church Street, Banbury Lane and Mumford Drive.

We are keen to hear from anyone who may have any information relating to these incidents or any CCTV/door bell of persons acting suspiciously on the nights in question. Please call us on 101 quoting reference number 25000503871 or report to us online here.

We are also keen to hear from anyone who may have had there car broken into recently but has not yet reported this to us.

You can also pass on information anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

There are some simple but effective things you can do to help protect your vehicle:

  • Park your car in a garage or driveway if possible.
  • Ensure vehicles are kept locked at all times.
  • Never leave anything on display in your car. The cost to repair damage to the vehicle will usually exceed the value of the theft
  • Drivers of some Toyota and Honda vehicles and some 4 x 4’s should install measures to deter theft of catalytic converts e.g  Catloc | Catalytic Convertor Theft Protection
  • Further security tips and crime prevention advice can be found on the Northamptonshire Police website and on the Neighbourhood Watch website.
