Crime Alert - Theft from a Vehicle

Dear residents,

Humberside Police are investigating a report of a group of persons who have been trying car door handles to gain entry into vehicles to steal items from within these. The incidents occurred between around 03:00-04:00 on Wednesday 27th August 2025. The offenders approached parked vehicles on streets including GREENFINCH DRIVE, CLEETHORPES and WALNUT CRESCENT, CLEETHORPES. We have had further reports of a Burglary around the same time at an address on BUCK BECK WAY, CLEETHORPES. If you have any CCTV footage (including video doorbell), saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area around this time or have any information about the offenders identities please contact the police to assist with our ongoing enquiries.

In other good news a male has been arrested this week for a burglary on PETERSON DRIVE, NEW WALTHAM which took place in the last couple of weeks which I had previously appealed for information around.

If you see any suspicious behaviour, persons or vehicles on the wards please contact police to let us know-

999- Emergency/Ongoing live incident in which there is risk to persons or property.

101- Enquiries/Information or to report something no longer ongoing which has already taken place

Online- Enquiries/Information or to report something no longer ongoing

To reduce the risk of your vehicle being broken into, please consider the below basic crime prevention advice -

  • Keep the vehicle locked at all times, and ensure you double lock it.
  • Make sure that your vehicle alarm is set.
  • Do not leave any valuables or "interesting" items on display
  • Don't leave tools in a van over night.
  • If possible park your vehicle on a drive or as close to your home as possible. Consider parking near CCTV or well lit areas.
  • When away from Home Park in a busy, well overlooked area. If the car will be there after dark try to find somewhere illuminated

  • Please also find attached the Police Crime Prevention Handbook which covers a broad range of crime prevention advice should you require this.

    Thank you, Dan.
