Prolific retail theft offender sentenced

🚨 Community Policing Update – Lambeth 🚨

Following a thorough investigation by Lambeth’s Neighbourhood Policing Team, one of the borough’s most prolific offenders has been found guilty at court.

Darwin Anthony, aged 43, from Wandsworth, was convicted of 14 offences of theft. He was sentenced to 17 weeks in prison, suspended for 18 months. We also managed to successfully apply for a Criminal Behaviour Order against Anthony with the following conditions and which will be in force for 3 years.

  • Not to enter any Co-Op store in the boroughs of Lambeth and Wandsworth for any reason at any time.
  • Not to enter any store in Lambeth or Wandsworth and pick up any goods with out being in possession of the means to pay for any such goods.
  • Not to be in possession of any drugs paraphernalia in a public place in the boroughs of Lambeth and Wandsworth.
  •

Anthony had been released from prison earlier this year but continued to offend, targeting local communities. Thanks to the persistence and detailed work of officers, he was quickly identified, arrested, and brought back before the courts.

“We know how much repeated theft and offending affects local people and businesses. This result demonstrates our commitment to taking robust action against those who cause harm in Lambeth. Our teams will continue to patrol, gather intelligence, and work closely with residents and partners to keep our community safe.” A/Insp Darren Watson
