THEFT / ATTEMPT THEFT OF QUADS / ATV's

THEFT / ATTEMPT THEFT OF QUADS / ATV's

Unfortunately the rural criminals still have their eyes on those Quads.    We've had reported the theft of and attempt theft of Quads in the Gillingham and Verwood areas in the last two weeks.

These are vital run around vehicles which by there very nature are convenient to use - but also relatively easy to steal.  We know that over the years most of you have greatly enhanced your security with regard to storage and identification.  Thank-you.

   Please continue to consider:

  • recording make, model and serial numbers.  Please also photograph your Quad/ATV.
  • Put your own unique ‘mark’ somewhere on the vehicle that only you know where it is ( photograph again).  You can use UV pens, stamping or tagging.
  • Consider strong anchorage and the security of your barn the quad is parked in.
  •

For any crimes Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously online at Crimestoppers-uk.org or by calling Freephone 0800 555 111.

Please do not use Dorset Alert to report a crime or something else that requires urgent police attention as we are unable to log details via this system.

You should call 999 if you or someone else is in immediate danger.
