Good Afternoon Nelson,
Earlier this morning, the Prosper Partnership Team were out on foot in Nelson, installing signage to highlight the recent issues brought to our attention surrounding Modern Slavery and Sex Trafficking in the Nelson area.
This follows an ongoing operation, Op Viva, that we are conducting, whereby we have been taking enforcement action on Pop Up Brothels in the area in order to safeguard vulnerable victims, and ensuring that these types of crime cease to occur in Nelson
It has been highlighted to us that there has been an influx of Brothels operating from terraced properties in the area.
We will be continuing to raise awareness in the coming weeks, so you can help spot the signs.
If you have any information or suspicion of any potential properties which you believe may be operating in this way, we encourage you to report it via 101.
