Proactive arrest - Erdington High Street

Hello, 

Yesterday Officers were on foot patrol as part of proactive patrols in the area of Erdington High Street they have identified a male begging, on engaging with the male he has provided details believed to be false by officers. The male has then ran off from officers making off on foot onto YORK ROAD and into back gardens. Officers have chased the male and caught him, officers  have conducted a search of the male, the male was in possession of a knife and drugs. 

The reason why the male provided false details was that he was wanted for failing to appear in court for a public order offence. 

The suspect has been interviewed and has admitted the offences he has been remanded in police custody to appear in court tomorrow.
