Witness appeal following inappropriate touching on bus in Weymouth

Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward after a teenage girl was touched inappropriately on a bus in Weymouth.

Between around 10.35am and 11.10am on Saturday 23 August 2025, a 16-year-old girl was travelling on the number one First Bus service from Portland to Weymouth.

It is reported that an intoxicated man came and sat next to the girl and asked her questions, which made her feel uncomfortable.

During the incident, the man deliberately rubbed his leg against hers for the duration of the journey.

The man is described as white, aged in his late 20s or early 30s with short dark brown hair and possible slight facial hair. He was wearing a yellow high-viz tabard with a white T-shirt underneath, light blue jogging bottoms and black suede Adidas trainers with white stripes.

Police Constable Nathan Boissé, of Weymouth and Portland police, said: “I am appealing to anyone who was on the bus and may have seen what happened to please come forward.

“We are carrying out enquiries into this incident and are working with the bus service to obtain any relevant CCTV footage.”
