APPEAL for information following fatal road traffic collision near PRESTON

EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE

Officers are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision on Lelley Road at its junction with the B1240 Sproatley Road near Preston yesterday afternoon (Monday, 25 August).

We received a call at approximately 12.20pm to reports that a grey Audi A5 had been travelling east along Lelley Road when it is believed to have been in collision with a Harley Davidson motorcycle at the junction of Sproatley Road.

Emergency services attended the scene, however the rider of the motorcycle, who has been named as Stephen Coulson, 68-years-old, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

His family have been informed and are being supported by specialist trained officers at this time.

The driver of the Audi, a 22-year-old man was taken to hospital to receive treatment to minor injuries and was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and possession of an offensive weapon. He has since been released under investigation.
