Dunscroft - "Its just a Mountain Bike"

Yesterday afternoon whilst carrying out patrols in the bank Holiday sun, East NPT Officers saw a male traveling in excess of the speed limit on Broadway.

The rider appeared to be on a Mountain Bike, but the fact he hadn't touched the pedals in a while and was getting faster raised our suspicions. 

On seeing the Police car the rider made a swift right turn cutting through York Road playing fields.

Officers carried out a search of the area and again caught sight of the rider on Station road, only this time he was pedalling very hard and not getting very far………. Oh dear the battery is now flat!

As Officers caught up with the rider and asked him to stop they noticed the bike had a large battery conversion pack attached to it. This makes the bike illegal to use on any public land, including roads.

The bike has now been seized, protecting other road users, pedestrians and the rider himself.
