On the evening of the 24th of August 2025, PC Gale and PC Milner from Team 1 Central Neighbourhood Policing Team, responded to reports of a possible drunk driver on Townley Road, Lupset. The vehicle was stopped, and the driver breathalysed, blowing 122 at the roadside. Whilst been dealt with by officers, the driver attempted to discard some cannabis by throwing it away in front of officers. This was recovered and he was dealt with separately for this offence. The driver was taken to a local police station, breathalysed again and blew 102 in custody. He has been charged to court for the offence of driving a motor vehicle Whilst over the prescribed limit through drink. He was further dealt with for driving with no license or appropriate insurance. |
