**Safety Reminder: Protecting Dogs in Hot Weather**

**Safety Reminder: Protecting Dogs in Hot Weather**

As temperatures rise, it's crucial to ensure the safety and well-being of our furry friends. Please follow these guidelines to keep your dog safe during hot weather, especially when travelling in cars:

1. **Never Leave Dogs in Parked Cars**: Even with windows slightly open, the temperature inside a vehicle can soar to dangerous levels within minutes, leading to heatstroke or even death.

2. **Provide Plenty of Water**: Ensure your dog has access to fresh, cool water at all times. Consider adding ice cubes to their water bowl.

3. **Walk Dogs in Cooler Hours**: Early morning or late evening walks are best. Avoid walking on hot pavement, which can burn paw pads.

4. **Provide Shade**: Offer your dog a shaded area to rest, whether at home or outdoors.

Stay vigilant, and if you suspect your dog is suffering from heatstroke, seek veterinary assistance immediately.

If you see a dog in distress in a hot car, please call 999 immediately. Public awareness and a quick response can save lives.

Let's all act responsible to protect our pets from avoidable suffering this summer.
