Anti-social behaviour – use of E-scooters |

E-scooters at this time can only be used private land with the landowner’s permission and are not for use on public roads, pavements and cycle lanes. E scooters are classed as mechanically propelled vehicles as such are subject to the same laws as a motor vehicle meaning they require a valid driver’s licence, insurance and tax if they are to be used in the public domain. At this time Insurance and road tax cannot be obtained for them. Using one of these in public can currently land you fines and penalty points on your driver’s licence. Police have the power to seize these if they are seen, being used in a public place. Please see the attached information below before purchasing one of these vehicles. | ||
