Safe4Summer: Fire Safety Advice from Your Wardleworth Neighbourhood Team

As part of the Safe4Summer initiative, we’re working with Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service to help keep our community safe during the warmer months.

Here are some key fire safety tips for your home and family:

Test Smoke Alarms Weekly
Make sure they’re working. They could save your life.

Cook with Care
Never leave pans unattended. Keep tea towels and packaging away from the hob.

Use BBQs Responsibly
Only use outdoors, away from fences, trees, and buildings. Never use indoors or on balconies.

Dispose of Cigarettes Safely
Use proper ashtrays. Never throw cigarette ends into gardens or bins without extinguishing them fully.

Keep Escape Routes Clear
Plan ahead. Make sure everyone knows how to exit safely in case of fire.

If you’d like a free Home Fire Safety Check, contact Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service or speak to a member of our team.

Let’s enjoy summer safely.
