Road offenders

Good morning,

Yesterday, your local neighbourhood team officers were patrolling the area of Kennington as part of regular patrolling activity and also due to recent reports of ASB involving catapults in the locality.

Although yesterday no ASB of this nature was seen, officers did see a grey BMW driving erratically away upon seeing them on Bybrook Road.  Upon catching up with the vehicle, the driver was found to be uninsured and therefore vehicle seized and he was issued with a Traffic Offence Report.  He should expect at least points endorsed onto his licence and a fine.

And then later that morning, officers were patrolling the area of Trinity Road when a black Hyundai caught their attention.  A stop check with the driver found him to be a provisional licence holder with no insurance, and drink driving with passengers onboard with him.  He was arrested and later once sober, charged with these 3 offences.  He will be due to appear at court at a later date for driving with an alcohol level of 69 when the legal limit is half this.  Needless to say but his vehicle was also seized to prevent further driving, preventing putting other road users and pedestrians at risk of harm. 

The officers are now catching up on the paperwork that comes with this work and then will be back out.
