Weekly Update from your local Radford NPT
Dear Members
Here’s your weekly update from myself and the rest of the team.
What’s Been Happening
Burglaries A burglary has been reported on MOSSDALE CLOSE which happened on Monday 18th August between 0200 am to 0630 am. Offender(s) has entered via an insecure window. Cash, wallet and a gentleman’s watch were stolen along with two vehicles, one of which has been recovered. A shed has also been broken into on QUAYSIDE and a black Carrera pushbike stolen. This happened on Saturday 16th August between 02:00 am to 09:00 am.
Vehicle Crime A vehicle has been broken into on ST NICHOLAS STREET. Offender(s) has smashed the front passenger window and a purse stolen containing cash and bank cards. A Renault Kangoo van has also had its hub caps stolen which was parked on WIDDRINGTON ROAD.
Cannabis Factory Officers have carried out a warrant on DORSET ROAD where a cannabis factory was found. Two males have been arrested from the address. More than 100 cannabis plants were inside spread across three floors, including growing rooms, drying equipment and living quarters. We will always take a robust stance on drugs, cannabis factories pose a real fire hazard as well as causing misery for those living nearby with associated anti-social behaviour and crime. If you suspect a property is being used for such purposes please do not hesitate to report or you can let us know anonymously via Crimestoppers.
In other News Officers recovered a stolen motorbike after a partner agency reported a bike being stored in the communal sheds. Officers conducted checks on the vehicle and discovered that it was on false plates. The true identity showed that it had been stolen about a fortnight earlier from the Tile Hill area.
This week we also carried out our Operation Advance day. This entails the police teams working with partner agencies and hitting areas that we know have issues.
Your local team conducted high visibility patrols at local shopping centres due to reports of persons asking for money from shoppers. One male was moved off from a local store. Anti-Social Behaviour is also an issue at the retail parks. Many groups of young persons were spoken to and advised about their behaviours.
Officers have also arrested and charged two prolific shoplifters. One was continually hitting a local One Stop and the other was hitting various Greggs stores.
Until next week, stay safe everyone.
If you have any information about crime in your area you can let us know 100% anonymously by contacting CRIMESTOPPERS 0800 555 111
Get Involved Streetwatch is a community patrol initiative that helps you make a difference where you live. Street watch gives you and your community an opportunity to keep your area safe, including just walking round your neighbourhood, which can really help. Local police keep in regular contact with street watch members to share information and work in partnership with you.
If you are interested in taking part in a Streetwatch within the Radford area you can contact the Holbrook, Radford, Sherbourne & Bablake team on holbrookandradford@westmidlands.police.uk
