Closure Order granted

Good evening,

Last week the officers on our team conducted many stop and searches across the ward during our shifts. One male was arrested as he was wanted for an outstanding offence. Following the arrest he was searched and a small bottle of pepper spray was found in his pocket. This was seized and he was further arrested for possession of a section 5 firearm. Later in the week a resident contacted the team as they had discovered a small lock knife discarded near to where they live, this was collected and booked in at the police station. Two offensive weapons taken off the streets of Forest Gate!

This week so far we have been busy patrolling our ward. Of note, today we were granted a Closure Order for a property which has been coming to notice recently. We had been receiving an increase in calls to the address and complaints about the visitors.

The Closure Order is in effect for three months and means that police can attend at any time to check who is inside the property. If anybody is inside other than the occupants then they can be arrested. This Order has been sought to reduce crime and ASB and also to protect vulnerable people. We hope this work will make a difference to those living nearby.
