Update from your local Neighbourhood Policing team

Dear Resident

From conducting patrols to attending local events, it’s all in a day’s work for your Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT).

Here is just a small snapshot of what they’ve been up to recently:

• Speed checks have been carried out in #KingsLangley and #Bovingdon after concerns were raised by residents.

• Beat surgeries were held at Sainsbury’s in Woodhall Farm and at Grovehill community centre in #HemelHempstead , to allow residents to discuss any concerns and get crime prevention advice.

• Night-time patrols were carried out in the Billet Lane area of #Berkhamsted, following reports of break-ins at the allotments.

• Patrols were carried out in Henry Wells Square, #HemelHempstead.

• Representatives from the Cornergate Foundation joined the NPT for patrols around #HemelHempstead town centre. The organisation works with prisoners and ex-offenders to help them integrate back into society.

• Patrols have been carried out in rural areas of #Tring.

• An operation was carried out in both #Berkhamsted and #HemelHempstead, to keep young people safe while out celebrating their A-level results - https://orlo.uk/4gHX9

• The NPT were joined by community engagement colleagues at an Older Persons Activity, Learning and Safety (OPALS) event at the Highfield Community Centre in #HemelHempstead. The events allow older members of the community to socialise while getting advice and information from a host of local organisations. Cyber Protect and Prevent Officer Chen Tsui also gave a talk about how to prevent fraud and scams.

• Local officers attended the YMCA ‘Play Day’ which took place at Woodhall Farm Community Centre in #HemelHempstead. The event was an opportunity for police to speak with young people to pass on safety advice and answer questions about how the police help people.

• A specialist talk was delivered to residents in Grovehill, #HemelHempstead about spotting the signs of fraud and scams.

Alongside the NPT, Dacorum is also policed by officers who respond to emergency calls, a team of detectives who investigate crimes such as burglary, robbery and assault, and specialist units who work to tackle issues such as acquisitive crime and domestic abuse.

As always thanks for reading,

Kind regards

James
