Incident near to St Margarets Train Station

Police are currently investigating following an incident in Stanstead Abbotts that took place on Thursday 20th August.

It was reported that a mobile phone was stolen from a teenage boy in Station Road, at around 3.15pm, after he and his friends were approached by three unknown males who indicated that they were in possession of a knife.

A second boy was reported to have been punched to the stomach during the incident, but had no property taken.

The suspects are described as three black males, who boarded a train towards London.

I understand that news of this incident will cause concern among the community. We’re currently making enquiries, including a review of CCTV, and are working with colleagues at British Transport Police. Patrols are also being carried out to provide reassurance.
