What is Secured by Design and how can it assist you.

In my previous messages I have added a link to the Secured by Design website where crime prevention advice can be obtained.

I just wanted to explain what Secured by Design is, and what information the website contains that could assist you.

Secured by Design is the official police security initiative that works to improve the security of buildings and their immediate surroundings to provide safe places to live, work, shop, and visit.

On the website you can find products that are Police approved, this means that they have been put through additional testing to ensure they are manufactured to a high standard, and they can deter and reduce crime.

There is a search section that allows you to identify a product, you will then be given a list of companies that manufacture these products, with links to their websites. This can be located here.

You can also search member companies using a search facility, once selected you will see a list of the approved products that company produces. This can be located here.

There is an area where design guides can be viewed for a variety of buildings, showing suggested security for different areas of the buildings. This can be located here.

Crime Prevention advice is also available on the website and can be located here.
