Arrest after foot chase in Manchester City Centre

Police Officers patrolling Piccadilly gardens earlier today sighted a male acting suspiciously. When approached, the male fled, sparking a short foot pursuit through the gardens to a nearby street. 

Officers detained the suspect quickly. A stop and search led to the recovery of suspected drugs and related paraphernalia. The male was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A and possession of Class B substances. He remains in custody for questioning. 

Targeted patrols will continue in the area as apart of ongoing efforts to disrupt and intercept criminality in the city centre.
