Castlefield Community Update – Tackling Drug Concerns Together

We’ve recently received reports from residents regarding suspected drug use near Castlefield Bowl, particularly along the canal paths during evening hours. Your concerns are being taken seriously.

Castlefield Neighbourhood Beat Officer (NBO) PC Riaz has been actively patrolling the area—both on foot and in vehicles—supported by PCs Gregory and Pennington. These increased patrols have led to several stop and searches, with two individuals found in possession of drugs. Both were dealt with via community resolution.

Officers will continue to maintain a visible presence in the area over the coming days. If you have any concerns, information, or simply want to speak to an officer, please feel free to approach them. We're here to listen, support, and work with you to keep Castlefield safe.
