Partnership Working

Little Ilford SNT have been working with their partners at the London Borough of Newham (LBN) this morning.

An illegal squatter was evicted from a property earmarked by LBN to house vulnerable families.

The tenant had fallen victim to a scam which has become increasingly common lately:

After seeing a property advertised on the internet, they met who they believed to be the landlord, handed over a large sum of cash as a deposit before being given a copy of a bogus contract.

Once the money has been handed over it is virtually impossible to retrieve it.

The tenancy agreement has no legal basis whatsoever and the tenant was required to vacate the premises.

This morning was a good example of your local police team working with a partner agency.
