ASB offender successfully charged!

On Saturday 16th August, officers from the City Centre NBO team attended an incident where a known violent offender had assaulted a Manchester Arndale security guard in full view of the public. It later transpired that this assault was racially aggravated. 

When officers have attended they have immediately placed the offender under arrest, however he aggressively resisted and put officers and members of the public in danger in a bid to escape. During the incident, he has racially abused one of the attending officers. With great teamwork between GMP and Arndale security, the offender was safely restrained and conveyed to Custody. 

The Crown Prosecution Service authorised the following charges, and remanded the offender in custody to be placed before the Courts:

1x Racially aggravated Public Order 

1x Common Assault 

1x Racially aggravated common assault

1x Obstruct/Resist a constable in execution of duty
