How to Stay Informed with Trading Standards Scotland - Important Update

Dear Resident,

 

Trading Standards Scotland is now an official Information Provider on the Neighbourhood Alert platform. This means they can send important updates directly to you — including the popular weekly Scam Share bulletin, consumer protection advice, and alerts about emerging scams.

 

How to Opt In:

Step-by-Step Guide:

 

  • Click the News Alert icon (found at the top of this page, as shown in the image).
  • Go to Configure Your Account.
  • Tick the box for ‘Trading Standards’.
  • Press the Request Code button.
  • You’ll receive a confirmation email containing a PIN code.
  • Enter the PIN on the page and submit it to save your settings.

    ⚠️ Important: Your changes will only be saved once the code is entered and submitted successfully. If the code is not entered, no updates will be applied to your account.

  • Go to the ‘Information Providers’ section in your profile.
  • Click ‘Edit’.
  • Tick the box for ‘Trading Standards’.
  • Save details
