I'd like to make you aware of a rise in reports of Rural Crime in the Sevenoaks District. Please take a minute to read the below tips and have a look at the crime prevention links to keep yourself up to date.
Top Tips: Lock equipment away in a secure building or part of a building when not in use Invest in a secure storage toolbox Install a burglar alarm on buildings where equipment is kept Always lock vehicles when left outside and keep the keys in your possession keep expensive items and vehicles out of sight when not in use consider using hitch locks, wheel clamps or ground anchors mark your tools and equipment and register them keep a record of all valuable items consider fitting outside security lights Crime Prevention Link Rural crime prevention | Kent Police
Heavy Machinery Theft Prevention You can secure your property using: Trackers Alarms An immobiliser CCTV Consider fitting machinery and vehicles with a tracking device and/or tagging system. Items such as quad bikes, sit-on lawn mowers and rotavators are very desirable to thieves. Consider making them difficult to remove by: Shackling them together, or Chaining them to a hitch secured to the ground or strong fabric of a building
