Two people have been arrested after being pursued by officers following a knifepoint robbery in Newcastle-under-Lyme.
It happened at about 7.30pm on Saturday (16 August). The victim, a man, arranged to meet two other men in Kidsgrove who were looking to buy Rolex watches from him. One of the men pulled out a knife and took the watches without paying for them.
They left the scene after getting into a car and driving off. They were followed after getting off the M6 southbound onto the Black Country Route in Bilston and stopped by road crime team officers.
All five of the Rolex watches were found in the car, as well as a knife. They have all been seized.
A 20-year-old man, from Worcestershire, and a 17-year-old boy, from Wolverhampton, have been arrested on suspicion of robbery. They were both questioned and bailed with conditions while our investigation continues.
By working proactively to tackle burglary, theft and robbery, we were able to reduce the total amount of related crimes in 2024, when compared to 2023. Action will continue against those responsible as we continue to tackle the issues affecting local people and businesses the most in Staffordshire. | ||
