Witness appeal after assault on bus in Potters Bar

Dear Resident,

Police are appealing for witnesses and information following an assault in Potters Bar.

At around 3.50pm on Friday 15 August, an altercation reportedly took place between two people on the 398 Sullivan bus, which was parked outside Sainsbury’s on Darkes Lane.

One man, aged in his 60s, sustained a cut to the head.

Another man, aged in his 40s, was arrested on suspicion of assault, assaulting an emergency worker and possession of an offensive weapon. He has been released on bail pending further enquiries.

PC Sophie Mitchell, from the Case Investigation Team, said: “Our enquiries are continuing, and I am appealing for anyone with information to please get in touch.

“Due to the location of this incident, there may be numerous people who saw what happened or witnessed the events leading up to the assault. Additionally, if you were a passenger on the bus and have any information, please contact me via email at Sophie.Mitchell@herts.police.uk.”
